Identity Theft – Avoidable If You Take A Little Care

April 27th, 2009 by admin

Two thirds of the workforce freely admit that they make private calls from the office and that they sometimes disclose personal information during these calls. Whilst arranging home insurance, loans or mortgages for example. One in five workers have heard their colleagues give answers to the most commonly used security questions – date of birth, place of birth, mother’s maiden name etc. They’ve even heard colleagues stating their credit or debit card number and the security codes. Given that, in a third of all identity theft cases, the victim and criminal know each other, you really should take care when disclosing such information within earshot of others.
