Honeycomb systems

November 5th, 2009 by admin

Take the emergence of SATA and SAS, for example; or the staggering increase in capacity of a wide range of storage media; or the ongoing acceptance of Ethernet as an alternative to Fibre Channel for block storage connectivity. After all, technological achievements are plentiful. Defining the single-most significant change in storage I have seen throughout the years could easily lead to multiple discussion threads. The product took two years to move from a project inside the labs to become to buy honey bees, but only a few months after delivering the petabyte-scale disk array that was code-named “Honeycomb” and that is a key part of the Constellation InfiniBand clustered system, Sun Microsystems has decided to open source the software that comprises the guts of the Honeycomb system.

Green Hosting

October 30th, 2009 by admin

A new type of company is emerging these days. Is a company that is environmentally friendly and for lack of a better word going green. I comes to technology probably one of the terms you will see most often is the term green hosting talking about hosting companies that have in some way gone green. One of the popular and probably easiest ways is to not take electricity from the grid. The take electricity from the sun or from the wind. The word solar or some type of wind fan that can generate electricity. This way you do not have to take the electrical company because chances are they are his burning coal to create electricity.

The American Way

October 28th, 2009 by admin

It seems many in the political world are aware that Fuad El-Hibri is not an American by birth. The name is a give away of course, but do many know that he was born in Germany? Yes, the man is a Muslim and that is enough to turn on the suspicions of many, but would we, as Americans, want others to be suspicious of us just because another group of people had done something bad? It is only fair that we give everyone an equal chance and live as the court systems view an arrested person – innocent till proven guilty. It’s the American way.

Quality medical schools – where to find them

October 14th, 2009 by admin

A career in medicine is among of the most rewarding and satisfying of all the careers that you might possibly pick.  Imagine being able to help hundreds or thousands of individuals every year and being able to make the difference in life or death situations.  A career in medicine is among of the most respected and well-liked of any career and the rewards are brilliant too.  A career in medicine is not trouble-free to get into however and takes years of committed study before you can begin it.  It does not matter which branch of medicine you aspire to enter or which career path you might hope to pursue you will have to work hard to get there.  This is why going to the greatest medical school you can find is so critical.  Going to a first-class medical school is the initial step on what will hopefully be a long and thriving career in medicine whether you plan to be a doctor, dentist nurse or surgeon.  A first-class medical school will give you a first-rate preparation in your chosen career path and help to get you your earliest job and work placement.  With increased competition for medical school spaces in the UK more and more British residents are turning to other options to embark on or further their medical careers.  Starting  a medical career abroad is at the moment a sound choice for lots of people as it can work out just as economical as doing it in the UK  especially with the rising cost of university courses and accommodation and the quality of the medical schools is the same if not greater than those that are based in the UK.  Of course going abroad to study will not be for everybody but it will be a useful opportunity to become skilled at a new language and take part in a new countries culture and way of life.  A career in medicine can be very rewarding and wherever you begin it you will in no way come to regret it.

A Sad Way for Life to End

October 7th, 2009 by admin

I knew an exmormon girl at school and she ended up having a romantic relationship with a teacher. The other kids didn’t recognize that she had been taken advantage of – they saw her as having the ability to make such a decision, so her reputation was of being rather loose and she didn’t have much hope of having a decent boyfriend in the school after that. Sadly, the exmormon girl died when she was on a camping trip about a year later. She got up to use the bathroom and because it was dark, she didn’t realize she was at the edge of a cliff and she fell off. I was sad for her that that was the way her life ended. She didn’t get to redeem herself.

Writing A Eulogy Often Requires Several Attempts to Get it Right

October 3rd, 2009 by admin

One of the things that you have to realize when writing a eulogy is that you are probably not going to get it right the first time. In all likelihood, you are going to have several rough drafts before you come up with the finished product, so you should not get discouraged if you do not get your thoughts down perfectly the first time. This is especially true when you are talking about an emotional time that could potentially make it difficult for you to think straight. Writing eulogies takes time and effort and more often than not, more than one attempt to get it right.

Leadership in the Nation

September 11th, 2009 by admin

I have been wondering for a while what it would be like if we had a president like the one that was on my favorite show a few years a go. That guy knew exactly what he needed to do and did it without any reservations every time. I just want a president that does not care about what people think, but will do what he does because he knows it is right. That is what leadership is to me. It is the ability to stand up for something, not knowing if anyone else will follow, but being able to stand no matter what.
