October 14th, 2009 by admin
We just bought a new house. It is a good size but the bedrooms are not very large. Our kids are still young and still need some space to play. We have been thinking that the basement might be a good place for them to play. But before we put their things down there, we would like to learn about diy basement waterproofing. We spent a lot on our house and do not have a lot left to spend on doing work to the house right now. We are hoping that this is something that we can do on our own.

Hoping We Can Find a Way to Make Our New Blended Family Work
October 12th, 2009 by admin
We really wanted to get married, so we decided to take the plunge. However, now that we have done so the kids aren’t so happy with the blended family that we have created. For some reason they have decided that they hate each other. Hopefully we will find a way to work things out and get the kids back on track. I think we might need to have some family counseling or something to figure out what we can do to make things better as far as the kids are concerned. We didn’t do this to make them miserable, but it seems to be the result.

Going for the branded…
October 11th, 2009 by admin
I consider the fireplace as the center of my house. Therefore, I need to invest on it. Rather than a cheap or a no-name brand, I would like to buy something really durable and branded. I want to make sure that I have the best to protect my house and my family. We like to use the fireplace a lot and I need a trusted brand for my own peace of mind. I like the glass heatilator fireplace doors and it is a name that I keep seeing over and over again as I am researching doors for the fireplace.

Clean Water Without The Unsightly Equipment
October 11th, 2009 by admin
Whole house water filter systems offer clean water without all that unsightly equipment under your sink. They are usually installed on the main water line just inside your house, if you have city water, and just past the water tank if you use well water. House water filter systems can consist of one, two, or more filters. Those with city water often can get away with just a gross particle filter, that screens out floating particles 5 micron or larger, in the water. Those who use well water often need a more extensive system that starts with a gross filter and then may contain a finer filter and often will finish with a charcoal filter to improve taste. House water filter systems start at about twenty five dollars and can go for hundreds of dollars, depending on how clean you want your water.

Removing Stuck On Shower Tile
October 9th, 2009 by admin
Removing stuck on shower tile is no easy task!
Actually, you are probably going to find it just about impossible to remove most of the stuck on tiles without damaging them. It’s actually not glue that you are dealing with. It’s grout and grout is not designed to be removed. Grout is designed to hold heavy tile on the wall and it’s adhesion qualities are very strong.
You can knock off many of the tiles by wedging them off. Be prepared for a lot of broken tiles that are no longer usable. You might get lucky though. Sometimes the tiles are set in a very thin layer of what is called thin set and you may actually have good luck removing those shower tiles.

Easy Meatloaf Recipe Can Be Found On Web
October 6th, 2009 by admin
When my mother informed me that we were going to have dinner guests later that night, I had to rush to get on the net, in order to find ideas of what I could fix for dinner. I did a search and looked for the meat dish first, and I was able to find a wonderful, yet easy meatloaf recipe. I went ahead and wrote down the recipe, as well as finding a couple of side dishes to go with the meatloaf. I opted for cauliflower and broccoli filled green bell peppers, as a compliment to my meatloaf dinner. Needless to say, they all loved what I served!

French fried potatoes
October 2nd, 2009 by admin
Do you use your stainless steel deep fryer cooks French fried potatoes? You should already know how to do it. After cutting the potatoes into the elongated cube shape in a cutter, the fries are battered, dipped and battered again. They then can be gently lowered in hands full, into the boiling oil. The cooking is again controlled by a timer, which sounds when the cooking cycle has completed. After 4 cooks the oil in the fryer needs to be filtered to clean it for future cooking cycles. Another alarm indicates when oil filtering needs to occur. It’s very important.

Raising Boys Means Broken Windows
September 30th, 2009 by admin
My wife called me while I was on the way home from the office the other day, and told me that she needed me to stop at the store and get a Window Replacement for the front room. I asked her what had happened to it, and she told me that one of the boys had thrown his baseball in the house, and it went right through the window. When I asked why he was throwing it, she told me that she was trying to hit his brother. He blames his brother because he moved from getting hit by the ball.
