The candles my grandmother is going to learn to make

October 2nd, 2009 by admin

Last week my grandmother told me that she wanted to start taking classes at Irvine Valley College. I thought this would be wonderful because she’s 74 years old and the college is only two blocks away from where she lives. The first class that she wants to take involves making candles. My grandmother is especially interested in the votive candle making process. She told me that some of the other things that she would be learning in the class was how to make scented candles. I believe she’s going to do this so she can sell them at her weekly garage sales.

My thoughts on the Catalina ferry ride

September 23rd, 2009 by admin

I was so happy last weekend when I was able to take the ferry over to Catalina Island. I had not been to Catalina in close to four years and I kind of miss being over there. It’s kind of like being in the Mediterranean with the exception of the fact that it’s only about 25 miles from Los Angeles. The ferry ride was awesome I had not seen water that blue in quite a while. While sitting on the deck of the ferry I started pondering the question of Are the rich necessary? My girlfriend’s family is fairly well off and they certainly think that having money is very important.

Formal training for double bass

September 12th, 2009 by admin

Throughout the early history of jazz, double bass players either learned the instrument informally, or from getting Classical training early on, as in the case of Ron Carter and Charles Mingus. In the 1980s and 1990s, colleges and universities began to introduce diplomas and degrees in jazz performance. Students in jazz diploma or Bachelor of Music programs take individual bass lessons, get experience in small jazz combos with coaching from an experienced player, and play in jazz big bands. As with Classical training programs, jazz programs also include classroom courses in music history and music theory. In a jazz program, these courses focus on the different eras of jazz history. such as Swing, Bebop, and fusion. The theory courses focus on the musical skills used in jazz improvisation and in jazz “comping” (accompanying) and the composition of jazz tunes. There are also jazz summer camps and training festivals/seminars, which offer students the chance to learn new skills and styles.

How Jack Vettriano Used Print Manufacturing To Improve His Career

September 11th, 2009 by admin

The rising popularity of modern British artists and some global artists is an indication that there would also be a rise in the number of limited edition prints to be sold.  The limited edition prints of Jack Vettriano have rising numbers of sales as an example.

Painters who want to begin gaining their career are not anymore required to produce a number of paintings because of this.  The artists are going to benefit with the inexpensive manufacturing cost and bulk production option.  This is precisely the method used by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano to improve his financial situation.

A popular painter would sell his limited edition art prints easier so it is good for him to have bulk prints made and enjoy the high margin of profit.  Due to the rising popularity of modern limited edition prints, there is a great chance that they will be sold in vast numbers.

Magician’s emotional hooks had me entranced

September 7th, 2009 by admin

I visit London every month as I’m a director of a law firm in a America and the vast majority of our clients are European. Last week I attended a champagne reception for one of our new clients and they had very kindly provided entertainment in the form of a london wedding magician. Now, in my business, I have attended hundreds of events where magicians have been hired to entertain the guests and I’m usually entertained at the time but ask me what the magician did an hour later and I’ve already forgotten. This event was different. The magician specialised in mind trickery and even now, a week on, I’m still thinking as to how he performed his tricks. I remember every single one such was the emotional hook he gave to them. A pure joy.

Groomsman

September 2nd, 2009 by admin

A groomsman or usher is one of the male attendants to the bridegroom in a wedding ceremony. The term groomsman is more common in the United States, and usher is more common in the UK. Usually the bridegroom selects his closest friends and/or relatives to serve as a groomsmen, and it is considered an honor to be selected. From his groomsmen, the groom usually chooses one to serve as best man. The duties of the groomsmen are to help guests find their places before the ceremony and to participate in the wedding ceremony. For a wedding with many guests, the groom may also ask other male friends and relatives to act as ushers without otherwise participating in the wedding ceremony; their sole task is ushering guests to their seats before the ceremony. Ushers may also be hired for very large wedding

Online Videos For Kids

July 29th, 2009 by admin

Shonda and I have been letting Cynthia get on the Internet some lately. It started with Disney’s Website, then she got a couple of those Webkinz toys and they’ve got a companion site for that. We watch her carefully to make sure she stays on the sites we select, and we only allow her a limited amount of screen time every day, but I think it’s pretty healthy that she’s learning to use the Web already. There are also some really good educational online videos available now, so we let her watch some of those.

When I first mentioned to Shonda that we should put the iMac in the dining room so that we could all three share it, she was adamant that Cynthia wouldn’t need to be online until she’s a lot older. Funny how quickly she changed her mind.

Learn & Use German Fillers

July 18th, 2009 by admin

The German language has its own and many expressions and fillers. In German, words that are called particles or fillers are called Wörter. However, these words could get you really confused since each word is entirely different from the other. But the real tricky part here is that some of the Wörter could serve too many purposes in different ways and situations. There’s also the thing with English-German dictionary about particles or fillers. unique Rocket German review Dictionaries just don’t have a way of translating these words because of their idiomatic appeal but then again, if you know the German language very well, you’d know how to use these words in the correct timing.

Looking for an Online Forum for Musicians

July 17th, 2009 by admin

A few years ago I taught myself how to play the guitar. I have a good musical ear, and some talent, so it was not too hard for me to master. Now I am thinking about branching out a bit. I would like to talk to some other musicians about how to learn blues guitar. I am looking for an online forum for musicians like me. I would like to get their opinions on what techniques work best and what things I should keep in mind. I would like something where I can post questions and also offer support to others.
