Pepper Spray and Personal Defense

July 28th, 2008 by admin

I have been taking a class in self-defense techniques at the local “Y”. Last year, I was attacked on my way home from the corner market. I never thought of my community as an unsafe place to live. I felt comfortable walking to and from town at night. I had done this often.
Friends of mine told me that I should get myself some “mace” or “pepper spray” to keep in my pocket or purse.
I have thought about this a lot lately. When I am most afraid, it seems like a good idea. When I feel more “in control” of my emotions, I don’t like the idea of it. I’m not certain why but it seems to have something to do with being driven by fear instead of reason.
I haven’t figured it all out yet but I am working on it. If I carry it around with me, will I feel more secure ? Does feeling more secure actually mean that I am more secure? Lots of “heady” ideas to think about.
Certainly, I don’t want to be afraid all of the time. I do think it’s prudent to learn a physical form of self-defense such as jujutsu. I need to know that I am physically strong and can take care of myself. Perhaps time will answer some of the other questions I have about types of self-defense and how prudent their use would be.

July 28th, 2008 by admin

If you’re looking for hotels in Spain for vacation destinations, you may wish to consider visiting one of Spain’s many islands. Besides the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, Spain also boasts the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. For example, Ibiza, the third largest of the Balearic Islands, has a particularly active nightlife. Ibiza offers a plethora of clubs from the Ibiza Town area in the east to the Sant Antoni area in the west. On Ibiza you will find Privilege, the world’s largest nightclub, and many, many others. Ibiza attracts popular DJs and people who enjoy house and electronic dance music. Ibiza is not for you, however, if you don’t like rowdy crowds, as it has been infamously dubbed the “Gomorrah of the Med”!

Needing to find a modern sideboard

July 28th, 2008 by admin

I have been looking at every furniture store within a 50 mile radius of my home. We are redoing our kitchen and I am in need of a modern sideboard. The modern style will fit in better with the new kitchen. The problems that no stores seem to have the modern look I want. Now I have changed my search to look on the internet for pieces of furniture. The options in modern design seem to be much easier to find on the internet. I would rather see the furniture in person but I will have to deal with just seeing a picture.

July 27th, 2008 by admin

Shopping for car insurance? If so, keep in mind that online car insurance is often cheaper. You can get comparable rates and service from online car insurance companies, and it is more convenient than traditional car insurance companies as well. You don’t have to schedule an appointment to make changes to your policy, drive to the local office to pay your premium, or hang on the lines forever in order to speak with a customer service representative. You can initiate your policy online, pay your premiums online, chat with a customer service representative online, and even file a claim online.

Tour Operators: Why Go For Them?

July 27th, 2008 by admin

There are three main reasons why you should render the service of a tour operator on your next leisure excursion from the city life. Number one reason is lower cost, another is for lower stress and the last but not the least reason-one unforgettable and fun getaway experience. It may sound straightforwardly simple, but that’s the truth. Escorted tours arranged by tour operators provides you with everything you need to have that perfect timeout, with almost none of the hassle that comes with planning and paying for every activity individually. Usually, when traveling through a tour operator, you travel with a group who might not be so familiar to you. Nevertheless, their presence will be beneficial as these people whom you’re going to spend a great deal of time with-while on the trip-are sure to become your friends. But aside from gaining friends along the way, a great thing about the trips arranged by tour operators is that they allow you to explore on your own and provide you with freedom from being with the group at times.

You Were With another Woman

July 27th, 2008 by admin

One of the first strategies that people use after a break up is the jealousy tactic.  They mistakenly believe that if their ex sees them with a hot new date then they will drop everything and come back to them.  This is usually no the case and more often than not the opposite ends up happening.  They see you with a new person and think that you have moved on.  Sometimes they will hook up with another person just to spite you.  The bottom line is that you can make your ex jealous if you want, but just don’t expect this tactic to bring them back.

Is There A Need For A Mattress Cover?

July 27th, 2008 by admin

Not only is a good mattress important but the purpose of a mattress cover is to protect your investment. You will need to consider the manufacturing materials and the reasons for covering your mattress with a quality mattress cover. The mattress will be protected from moisture so choose a quality material for your cover that will facilitate absorbency.  This will allow the product to breathe and in doing so will provide a good night’s rest.  A mattress cover made from polyurethane and cotton offer excellent protection and will help in maintaining proper environmental hygiene.  An unprotected mattress could harbor many microorganisms which in turn could enter into the respiratory system of the sleeping individual.  Unwanted “guests” are thus kept at the bedroom door with the use of a mattress cover and the protection it offers your lifetime investment.
