The wonder and awe of 3-D!
March 28th, 2008 by admin
The world of 3-D has evolved substantially since the first red and blue pair of 3D glasses and the cereal box picture that made kids take notice. The basic 3-D model was pretty amazing for its time but it’s been improved to really make the pictures seem like their popping out at you. Using computer programs like Photoshop you can easily create a 3D picture for these glasses even in color! The first pictures were made completely in red and blue ink but color was added by superimposing the red and blue outlines of the picture over the picture itself. The effect is dazzling!

Distance Education Programs: Classical Education is Best
March 28th, 2008 by admin
One of the most traditional and rigorous curricula is Classic education. Education is considered classical when there is a strong emphasis on learning a classical language such as Latin. This type of learing, these days, can be accomplished by Distance Education. It also concentrates heavily on the brilliance of the intellectual and artistic classical heritage. Sophisticated speaking and writing is developed through logic, grammar, and rhetoric. It also calls for demanding training in scientific reasoning and mathematics.Learning can usually be broken down into two different types: learning to acquire a skill and learning to achieve meaning. Learning to acquire a new skill is knowledge-based, and its end goal is performance. This type of learning is great for those who want to learn how to perform surgery or how to invest in the stock market.Describing learning to achieve meaning is more difficult, since it is more than just learning how to do something. Classic education provides students with the foundational skills to develop their intellectual natures. Knowing how to think and reason critically are invaluable skills that never become obsolete. Both learning styles are important, but it’s important to understand the difference between the two. Knowledge-based learning, as someone said, can help us build new roads or bridges, but it can’t tell us where we want to go.To learn with meaning helps us decide where we want to go. It would be unwise to depend on a road to take us to our destination without having a goal, or determining what we need to meet that goal.Classic education has been used an instrument for over two thousand years to teach meaning to generations of students. It was this education that instructed medieval philosophers and even the Founding Fathers of the United States of America.Few students who are taught through knowledge-based learning alone can preserve their applicability because of the world’s constant changes. However, students who receive a classic education learn how to reason, which will apply to all of life’s changes.Even though this educational method was created over 2,000 years ago, it remains the most pertinent learning model for today. Knowledge-based learning will continue to become outdated as new skills are needed day after day. Learning for meaning will never become that way.

How Hard Is It To Run Your Car With Water?
March 27th, 2008 by admin
Since the beginning of 2008, water fueled cars have been a pretty talked about thing. Even though the technology has existed for a long time, it is only recently that guides have surfaced that tell you how to apply it to your own car. So how hard is it to use water for gas?
Well, the good news is that you don’t need any knowledge of chemistry, and it is pretty easy to install. To make your car compatible to run on water you’ll need $20-200 worth of parts, depending on what kind of install you do. The average person will typically take a couple of hours to install the whole thing, and that’s for someone who has never worked with cars. A skilled mechanic will have it done in less than 10 minutes.

Protect Kids Naturally From Receding Gums
March 27th, 2008 by admin
Kid’s dental health care should be taken care of to help them avoid receding gums and toothache. It can occur if the gums and the bone in the mouth have moved away from the tooth. Gum disease can cause receding gums. It is possible for kids to have gums that recedes if they have poor oral habits since the plaque can accumulate in the gum line. Because gum recession exposes the roots, the teeth becomes sensitive to hot, cold, sweet, and salty substances. Parents should always see to it that kid’s oral hygiene should be followed up like teaching them how to properly floss and brush their teeth. Vancouver online backup – How to save money with online backup
To save the costs of online backup, considering doing the following suggestions: Use a backup drive for everyday backup, and only use online backup for your most important files. This way, you will still get to keep your most important files should a fire or flood occurs, but for minor everyday data recovery, you can just recover your information from your portable hard drive. Another good way is find a provider that does not charge you internal network fees. For example, a lot of Internet Service Providers charge you bandwidth costs if you go over your bandwidth limits, which is very easy to do if you’re using online backup. But with some providers such as SmarttNet’s Vancouver online backup service, internal network bandwidth are limited, meaning you won’t have to pay for backup bandwidth if you’re also getting an Internet connection from them.
